Plant of the week: Osmanthus tricolour ‘Goshiki’

Osmanthus’ are evergreen shrubs or small trees with foliage which is very similar to Holly bushes. Osmanthus’ produce small tubular fragrant flowers however it is their colourful foliage throughout the year which is of most interest.

The Goshiki variety has a bushy growing habit and has white flowers throughout Autumn. The Goshiki’s leaves are variegated in gold and in some cases pink which contrasts nicely against the deep green.


Growing to around 1.5 meters in height and 1 meter in width the Goshiki variety is considered compact and easy to manage, with very little pruning required. As well as being hardy to -15C it is also resilient to most pests and diseases.


For best results plant in a sunny to partially sunned area with good drainage. The Goshiki is an easy variety to grow and can cope with most soil conditions.Available now.
